BAAI CONFERENCE

The BAAI Conference is an annual international high-end academic exchange event in the field of artificial intelligence, hosted by the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI), aimed to be an international “Expert Conference on AI”. The first conference was held in October, 2019. In 2020, more than 150 speakers of top experts and scholars in the field of AI from around ten countries and regions attended the event, including five winners of Turing Award: Judea Pearl, Alan Kay, Joseph Sifakis, Manuel Blum, and John Hopcroft. Last year, the 2021 BAAI Conference ended successfully with 2000,000 attendances online and 8,000 people offline. More than 150 speakers of top experts and scholars in the field of Artificial Intelligence from around 76 countries and regions attended this event including Yoshua Bengio, David Patterson, Stuart Russell, Toby Walsh and Jeff Hawkins.
    • General Chairs

    • Dr. Hongjiang ZHANG is Chairman of BAAI, Member of NAE, a Venture Partner at Sourcecode Capital. He previously served as CEO of Kingsoft Software, CTO of Microsoft Asia-Pacific Research and Development Group and the Managing Director of the Microsoft Advanced Technology Center. He was also an Assistant Managing Director and a founding member of Microsoft Research Asia and was one of the 10 Microsoft Distinguished Scientists. Dr. Zhang is a Fellow of the Institute of IEEE and ACM, and was the recipient of the 2010 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award, 2012 ACM SIGMM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, and the winner of 2008 “Asian-American Engineer of the Year” award. He was selected as one of 2019's top 1,000 computer science and electronics scientists in the world by Guide2research, ranking first among mainland Chinese scholars.

    • Dr. Qionghai Dai, born in Dec, 1964, now works as a professor in department of Automation and as an adjunct professor in department of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. He is also an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Dr. Dai is expertized in computational photography and stereoscopic vision. Supported by National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program), the Special Fund for Research on National Major Research Instruments, and National Science Foundation of China, he led a program to develop a Real-time, Ultra-large-Scale imaging at high resolution (RUSH) macroscope on the basis of innovative theories and key technologies of computational photography. RUSH macroscope is succeed in the multi-dimensional and multi-scale dynamic imaging from subcellular to organ levels, leading to the breakthrough observation of neuron connections in million-scale and real-time, which may reveal the structure and function of the human neural system. The findings may provide supports for creation of a new generation of neural computing methods.
